Harmonizing Environmental Stewardship for Electronics
Canada's three operational, industry-led and regulated environmental stewardship programs for end-of-life electronics have come together to ensure their efforts on driving economies of scale across their individual compliance efforts are harmonized. Atlantic Canada Electronics Stewardship (ACES), the Saskatchewan Waste Electronic Equipment Program (SWEEP), and the Electronics Stewardship Association of British Columbia (ESABC) have staffed an office of Harmonization Coordination as of January 1, 2009. This website will be the virtual focal point and portal for the programs' efforts to avoid duplication, while taking advantage of cross-jurisdictional approaches.

Standards & Definitions
Recycling & Reuse/Refurbishment Standards:
-
Recycler Qualification Program (RQP) for End-of-Life Electronics (EOLE)
This document defines the minimum requirements for end-of-life electronics processors and recyclers to be considered for use under the electronics recycling Stewardship Program (‘Stewardship Program’). The intent of the RQP is to ensure that EOLE products are managed in an environmentally sound manner that safeguards worker health and safety, and the environment from the point of primary processing to the point of final disposition. (coming soon - current RVQP found on EPSC.ca)
-
Electronics Reuse and Refurbishing Program (ERRP)
The ERRP is designed to foster responsible environmental, safety and social management practices related to the reuse and refurbishing of electronics. The ERRP aims to maximize the amount of materials available for reuse and further ensure that materials entering the reuse stream are utilized to the greatest extent possible.
